Sylph Baier trained partly in Germany and West Wales before setting up her business in Brighton in 1989.

Her "Storm in a Teacup" range is a collection of individually thrown tabelware using majolica techniques for decoration.

Since her sabbatical in Paris in 1999 she has been developing a new range called "Lift", a form based range which explores more tactile and quiet qualities, and seems to float above surfaces.
