I have always enjoyed painting and drawing since I was a child but it wasn’t until after I had left school that I did a foundation course at Brighton Polytechnic, and later had private lessons for painting. Later as my painting developed I began to really enjoy painting nature, flowers and scenes. I work mainly in oils but occasionally pastel. In the past I have done watercolour and acrylics. More recently I have been doing copperfoil stained glass, having had tuition in it. I love the use of colours and how they work together, and I have always loved the old stained glass of people’s front doors and church windows. Many art nouveau windows have given me inspiration for the work I do in glass. I have had various exhibitions in the last twenty years and did my first open house in Brighton as a guest in the Hartington trail for Christmas 2005 and again in May 2006. I then opened my own house in Hollingdean at Christmas 2006 and in May 2007 as an Independent. Last year I opened under the Fiveways group for the first time.
